Steve Bug & Mr. V - The Long Run

Fresh on the trail of this year’s exceptional long player ‘Noir’, Steve Bug returns with perhaps his most deep house-oriented track in a while – ‘The Long Run’.

Teaming up with US house legend Mr. V, who inititally donated vocals only, the collaboration brought up Mr V‘s own interpretation of Bug‘s track. This release is as delicious a serving of classic New York deep house as you will hear all year – or any year.

Dessous’ main man is at the controls, riding out a sumptuous, Rhodes-driven groove that references golden era Kerri Chandler and friends, but remains completely rooted in 2012. Mr V’s spoken word vocal lays out the manifesto for these two house pioneers – both are committed to quality music, made with passion and respect.

Next stop on ‘The Long Run’ is Mr. V’s stunning take on the same track. Ratcheting up the percussive elements, the New York native injects hints of the Latin rhythms that define many of his productions, making this into a stone-cold club banger whatever the party.

Both tracks come with corresponding instrumental versions for the DJs, rounding out this irresistible release that continues Dessous’ outstanding run of releases this year.

Doctor Dru - Foolish

I have previously posted "2 Know U" from Hamburg-based DJ/producer Doctor Dru. Now it is time for the B-side of his new two-track record for Exploited. Doctor Dru has just unveiled the video for "Foolish," with featuring a nude model drenched in gold paint, contrasts from the more subtle sultriness of the music itself, but despite this contrast, the colorful, glittering visuals make for a fitting representation of Doctor Dru's late-night vibes.

Nick Curly Underground (Incl. Dennis Ferrer Remix)

"Underground" is the lead single from Nick Curly’s debut album "Between The Lines" released on Defected Records. The album is a deeply personal account that sees Curly shift focus from the more club-ready tracks with which he made his name, to slower, more emotive grooves and musical expressions. In its original form, "Underground" is a deep, techy journey through a smoke-filled basement, pulsing softly with hushed lights and dubby chords. The main refrain bubbles sultrily through the record’s core while the occasional vocal fills the heady spaces between the sparse, clattering beats.
Dennis Ferrer isn’t known as a prolific remixer, but when he does turn his hand to something you can be sure that the result will be worth the wait. His remix of "Underground" has been hammered at Pacha and across Ibiza all summer long, and for good reason. Developing the chords of the original beautifully and adding a devastatingly infectious organ lead-line, Ferrer builds and builds before unleashing huge, pounding keys for a truly breathless finale.

Delano Smith - Midnight Hours (Reconstructed by Carl Craig)

Berlin based imprint Sushitech will revisit An Odyssey, the debut album from label regular Delano Smith, with a modern Detroit floor damage remix from Detroit royalty Carl Craig. He brings one of the skippiest, housiest grooves he has laid down in some time for "Midnight Hours"

Mario Basanov - Say What Ya Want

Mario Basanov comes from a different angle to most dance music producers. He’s one of a handful from Lithuania to make waves globally and has over a decade of experience despite still being in his twenties.
In Basanov’s 16 track "Journey" he exposes new and exclusive records featuring the vocalists that brought him to the limelight, such as Jazzu taking root in the elegant atmospheres of ‘Under Your Feet’ and Stee Downes who features on the more buoyant "Say What You Want", shooting punches through the vocal lines and spinning magic within its synth basslines. "Say What Ya Want" is one of the best tracks from the album, and this one has not been published before..

Deep Future - You Need It (Detroit Swindle's 'Never Enough' Interpretation)

Audiojack’s Gruuv label drops its twentieth release this December in the shape of Deep Future’s "Fixations" EP which comes with remix from Dutch duo Detroit Swindle of "You Need It". The deep house vibes are still firing on all cylinders in this release. Out 3rd December.

Finnebassen and Gundelach - Footsteps EP

The mighty Finnebassen drops his next release on 5th December via Supernature. It’s a 4 track release, two originals. The lead track which is getting a lot of attention at the moment.

"Footsteps" is an altogether different beast. The melancholic core is coupled with jazzy overtones and slow ravishing drums. This track wasn't planned for a release but the boys were so enamored with it, they couldn't let it let go. The radio edit is set to rock stations across the globe.

Adriatique (Diynamic) brings the track to dance floor heights with their smart interpretation of "Footsteps". You are immediately immersed into the track by the strong wavelike kicks. This remix may cause paralysis of the mind so use extreme caution while operating heavy machinery ... alcohol may intensify this effect!

"You Will Never Sleep" shows Finn's trademark knack for strong vocals and catchy melodies once again!

A strong remix of "You Will Never Sleep" is backed up by the superlative Jay Shepeard (Retrofit). Surely this is the reason we are loosing sleep; bouncy cascading melodies make you hover over reality. Another unexpected turn for Supernature! Prepare to be waterboarded by epic beats because this four tracker just won't quit.

Tale Of Us feat. The/Das - Fresh Water

Tale Of Us & The/Das – Fresh Water EP, established members of the Life and Death crew join forces with a few new recruits to create an emotional journey across a beautiful new landscape of future music.
With the "Fresh Water EP", Life and Death once again bring together a combination of unique musical voices that stretch beyond traditional genres to stake out new territories in contemporary dance music.
Coming out of the gate like a horse on fire, the title track sees Italian duo, Tale Of Us, return to the Life and Death mothership with a new original piece featuring Berlin duo, The/Das. It's a haunting dancefloor monster that won't leave your mind (or body) quickly, even once the music stops. With its throbbing bassline, ethereal synths and that voice that beckons, cooly but urgently, Fresh Water hits its emotional nerve with razor-like precision.

Luciano - Rise Of Angel

"Rise Of Angel" is the brand new single from Luciano, and the first single to be taken from his forthcoming album, due in 2013. However, for the many thousands of dedicated music fans who have made the pilgrimage to Luciano's hugely successful parties this Summer in Ibiza (the weekly Ushuaia sessions and Vagabundos at Pacha), or the many Cadenza parties around Europe and North America, 'Rise Of Angel' has already become the signature tune and musical hi-light in Luciano's sets, making its release a highly anticipated moment for the Cadenza faithful.
Clocking in at over 15 minutes, "Rise Of Angel" is an epic slice of modern electronic dance music, the simply Balearic, synth and piano driven hook gently builds and teases with cinematic intent, the light percussion and organic beats working the old Luciano magic, it's no wonder that 'Rise Of Angel' has become one of the most talked about tracks of the Ibiza season this year.
For the remixes, Luciano has kept it in the family, enlisting the duties of fellow Cadenza artists Mirko Loko, UNER and Andrea Oliva to all lend their unique production styles to a solid set of reinterpretations.

James Silk & Andre Crom - Perfect Thing

Following up killer EPs on Defected and Exploited, James Silk makes his debut on OFF Recordings in collaboration with producer Andre Crom on the next release, catalog number 41.
Presented as a single A-Side, "Perfect Thing" combines a killer bassline, 80ies-flavored synths and an irresistible vocal to come up to the expectations which its name lets arise. Release 21 November 2012.

Jessie Ware - No To Love (Remixes)

Jessie Ware's "No To Love" Remix EP start off big with Hotflush associate George FitzGerald’s floor-filling contribution. It features some infectious low-end work, and made it onto Scuba’s stellar FACT mix a few weeks back. Next, electro-house veteran Ewan Pearson twists the pure sensuality of the original into something seedier; more like the pangs of regret felt when the lights come up at 5am than anything more lasting. Todd Edwards wraps things up with a beat-heavy belter, morphing Jessie’s vocal around an unwavering syncopated shuffle.

Doctor Dru - 2 Know U

Shir Khan’s Exploited label returns with another powerful release: This time from Hamburg based DJ & Producer Doctor Dru whose debut on Exploited was the collaboration "Juicy Fruit" with partners Adana Twins. With "The Voice of Dru" Doctor Dru created a modern take on a classic italo track which - within a few days - became a Beatport Top 10 Hit and was sitting comfortably on Deephouse No.1 for weeks. Now Doctor Dru is back with "2 Know U" that premiered last week on Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and the next "Something Special" release in Mixmag.

Trav & Volta - The Same

Long running Sankey’s club night’s label offshoot of the same name has been releasing a variety of fantastic quality deep and tech-house over the past couple of years.
New signings Trav & Volta, as the artist name might suggest, have Harlem shuffled into a more nu-disco oriented direction with four tracks of chunky quality, full of old-skool samples and big driving basslines. Nick Fisher & Chris Dunn are infact relatively new to production, which is difficult to believe considering the maturity and quality across the board of the tracks on offer. "The Same" utilises a superb old-skool sounding vocal that nestles intimately with the layers of melody that do much to lift this track from just a club-focused release to something that works well piped directly into your ears.

Art Department Feat. Seth Troxler - Vampire Nightclub (Max Chapman Edit)

Max Chapman has been one producer gaining lots of attention later. Well now he is giving us something more to talk about. Max Chapman is so graciously to hooks us up with a free download of an edit he did of the late night classic, "Vampire Nightclub", by Art Department & Seth Troxler.

Detroit Swindle - Creep EP

The swindlers from Detroit, aka Lars Dales and Marteen Smeets has just released their Creep EP on Freerange Records. Having release on some of the most fabulous labels in the world – Saints and Sonnets, Berlin’s Dirt Crew and the lovely Stuart Geddes’ Murmur, this Dutch duo have been making serious underground waves. This latest EP on Freerange is another display of their charismatic ability to warp and twist tired sounding notions into something you actually want to dance to. The lead track "Creep" is a stripped back, muscular exploration of good energetic bass and sharp drums. "I Gotta Know" has an edgy little disjointed vocal sample, that almost sounds on a garage vibe, with a happy up tempo momentum. One of the highlights of the EP has got to be "Brotherman", some fresh Chicago house with a deep sexy male vocal, a filthy subbass and hollow rim taps. It’s old school dark house grooves updated for the modern age. Wolf music’s KRL has also done a wicked remix of "Brotherman" adding a lick of slick disco boogie edge. Detroit Swindle have always excelled at producing Motown esq modern deep techno and house, this release is no exception.

Kreature - You Can EP

4,850 miles separates London and Tony Yeboah's birthplace of Kumasi, but new London label Kumasi Music intends to bridge the gap sonically with their debut EP. Leeds-based Kreature, whose first four releases have furnished the top ten of the Beatport Nu-Disco charts, absolutely outdoes himself for the first Kumasi EP, with two original tracks of funk and flex. These pave the way for three mighty remixes from other members of the Kumasi gang; Belgium's finest Kolombo, Russian beatmaker S.K.A.M., and hotly tipped Lithuanian disco men Markas and Mindaugelis.
'What You Want' opens the label's account, with dropped kick drums, sharp claps and future facing synths out in force to mesmerise and invigorate dancefloors. Despite plenty of details, it's no doubt the bouncing bassline that provides the tracks bristling energy, a club-oriented counterpoint to the alluring female voice whispering sweet nothings at the back of the track. Second up, 'You Can' operates in deep disco-house mode. Gently underlapping kicks caress the colourful, skyward chords, whilst an androgynous, sultry voice charms the spaces left behind. Pristine production and meticulous melodies make the track as intriguing as it is danceable, paving the way for a trio of remixes.
The first remix comes from Kolombo, a deep house producer of heavyweight proportions following well received EPs on Kompakt, Ghostly International, Noir and Solomun's 2DIY4 label. He re-imagines 'You Can' as a more bulbous and boisterous nu-disco cut with molten bass stands and hip swinging claps forming infectious step and vibe around which the drizzled melodies percolate.
As for the S.K.A.M. remix, it's a firm favourite of 2020Vision boss Ralph Lawson who has championed it at Space Ibiza this season to wicked effect. It's no surprise the track has been so well received given its upright and euphoric disco persona. Finally, Lithuanian newcomer Markas teams up with Mindaugelis for the final re-rub, with their version of 'You Can' stuffed with acidy little twitches, swathes of echo on the claps and a slurred, ethereal bassline that conjures a mysterious dead of night feel from start to finish.

Niconé - Why (Incl. Monte Remix)

OFF Recordings presents one of Berlin's most loved DJs on its roster: Niconé, known already from releases on Stil Vor Talent and his own label Dantze.
With "Why" Niconé delivers a true anthem - a massive Chicago-Electro bassline, a thrilling synth hook, and extremely catchy vocals in a tight mix - that's the recipe which will destroy dancefloors all over.
Hamburg's rising star Monte created a deeper interpretation in his trademark cutting edge sounddesign with loads of analogue synth goodness.

Nolan - Bitter Sweat

Brighton based DJ and producer Nolan is making serious waves (and not just on the beachfront). His latest release featuring the delectable Amber Jolene on vocals is currently riding high in the Beatport charts with remixes from Finnebassen & Miguel Puente on Germany's über-hot OFF Recordings.
Bitter Sweat from is his newest release is a grittier modern mold with a hooky electronic bass, an amalgamation of vocal chops, and disco house chords driving the track. Nolans formation of the track relies on a simple yet effective movement of stripping back the groove to an atmospheric breakdown, followed by the introduction of new elements precipitously.

Aeroplane – In Her Eyes (Tiger & Woods Remix)

"In Her Eyes" is the first release of Vito De Luca's aka. Aeroplane's label, AEROPOP. It is also the first original Aeroplane material since 'Save Me Now' and the In-Flight Entertainment compilation.
Aeropop will be mainly dedicated to Vito's side projects and collaborations with different artists under numerous aliases, leaving him some space to play around with different genres and sounds. But to celebrate the launch of the label, Vito decided to make the first Aeropop release an Aeroplane one.
'In Her Eyes' features Chicago House legend Jamie Principle on the vocals. Vito met Jamie on New Year's Eve 2011 in Sydney and they instantly got along. The idea to make a record together came about 4 seconds into the conversation, and from what we've heard it won't be a one shot.
The original is an 80's fueled 'DMX' funk song, with Jamie's vocal giving that extra real-ness and depth, including old-school spoken word and all. We are instantly back in Chicago when Jamie screams 'Don't Go !' in the bridge like sheÕs never coming back, leading into a classic Aeroplane euphoric breakdown and a butt-shaking song-end.
The remix package is reflective of Vito's latest influences as heard in his now famous not-so-monthly Soundcloud mixes. He chose all the remixers himself.
First one is from Italian anonymous-ish act Tiger & Woods who deliver a bass-rolling mix that has a 'Da Funk' feel, making best use of all the parts and chopping them insanely a la Tiger & Woods . Road testing proved this one to be a real big track.
Chopstick & Johnjon from SUOL Recordings also joined the cast, with an amazing deep house take on the track. This one is definitely for the late sweaty and sexy club nights.

Kolombo - What Could Make Me Think (Atapy Remix)

Kolombo, aka Olivier Grégoire, is one of the most prolific and reknowned producers & DJs from Belgium. Infamous for hard hitting booty bass, Kolombo releases another sublime sound with ‘What Could Make Me Think,’ out on the relatively young label Mahayana Records based in Athens, Greece. An instant favorite, a dancefloor go-to banger, and even an everyday kind of track, it just works all day, everyday, to get you down and dancing. The EP is graced with two remixes, the first from Mi4L favorite Atapy. Atapy is one of my absolute favorite artists for remixes, his interpretation always matches my level of love with the original, and this one is no exception. Drawn out synths, some extra bangs and cowbells, and a more playful tease of a build up make this remix straight gold. DSF‘s remix chops it up with broken up vocals, distorted synths, and harder hitting beats to give it a more gangsta house feel.

Roberto Palmero & Redondo - Underground Feel

Spanish "Roberto Palmero" is a producer and dj with a short but promising career in music production. His subjects are born from the finest Deep, to the House with touches of pure tribal sounds, which is reflected in any of its references. Roberto teamed up with Redondo on his first EP released on NTFO's label "Sintope" It comes with an amazing remix by 2DIY4 producers Amine Edge & DANCE.

Waze & Odyssey – Love Attack

Waze & Odyssey take a break from launching their own label, recording a guest mix for Skream and Benga’s radio show and remixing the likes of TEED and Disclosure to return to Disco Bloodbath Recordings, where they provided a much acclaimed remix to the label’s debut release, Damon Martin - "That Ain’t Right", earlier this year.
The two originals here, "Love Attack" and "She’s A Hooker", continue where they left off, providing no-nonsense club trax with a nod to the past and an eye on the future. On the flip, Mark E delivers an outstanding remix, cross-pollinating 80s proto-house with vintage electronics and a distinct “kosmische” flavour to create a mutated, deceptively simple, dancefloor winner.

Only Children - Falling

The young Brooklyn record label Razor-N-Tape just released its first digital EP and the artist is by re-edit masters Only Children! For the first song on the two-track release, the Chicago producers modernize and rework the 1983 post-disco single Falling In Love by New Jersey's Surface. It's a deliciously mid-tempo disco jam that will get your head bobbing!

Climbers - The Price Of Power

After very successful releases already this year on Get Physical and Culprit LA, the Mexican duo Climbers brings us the hugely powerful "Price Of Power" alongside some equally superb remixes from very talented artists Sishi Rosch, Kolombo, Lula Circus & Moonwalk.
