Electronic Youth - I Wish

The new Electronic Youth single is a woozy deep burner. There's a world-weary female vocal from "Angie Stone - Wish I Didn't Miss You" that nicely sits atop the sparse, bubbling backing. The whole thing reminds us of late nineties/early noughties New York house.

Mike Salta - Voices (Instrumental 85 Mix)

Danish DJ, producer and label owner (Skycreaker and Relux Music Group) Mike Salta is a veteran on the dance music scene. Having been producing for 20 years, he's survived and thrived through out his producing era from techno, to trance, deep house, italo, and house. Mike graces the sampler with a very unique track, Outrun. The stripped version is a heavy but slow builder that gives lots of detail to the technical side of music, as well as provides tasty stabs, pumping drum work, and a bassline so groovy and trippy, we can't even think of what to call it but the Salta shaker..

Hard Times feat. Ron Carrol - Back Together (Pete Herbert Remix)

Dutch house duo Hardsoul is best known for producing a number of club anthems after the turn of the century, most notably their international breakout hit "Back Together" from 2003. Now The Re-Master Collection is here. The original is considered a house music classic and is accompanied by 26 remixes from the like of Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper, DJ Meme, Tony Lionni, Pete Herbert and Jon Cutler to name a few,.

Reptile Youth – Speeddance

Copenhagen, Denmark based pop/punk duo Reptile Youth (Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen and Esben Valløe) former Reptile and Retard released a debut single titled “Speeddance”. It’s out now digitally and on 7″ vinyl including a remake by Norwegian band Deathcrush and a remix by Canadian two-piece My Favorite Robot.

Azari & III - Lost In Time (Jori Hulkkonen Remix)

Torontonian four-piece Azari & III will release a limited edition 12"vinyl as part of this year's Independent Record Store Day in the UK, on 16th April. Featuring two brand new remixes from two contrasting artists that cover both techno and house music.

On the A side, a brand new remix by Finnish DJ and Producer Jori Hulkkonen, renowned across the blogosphere for his version of Corey Harts 1980’s hit ‘Sunglasses at Night’, strips back the original’s percussion to deliver a contemporary Chicago influenced house groover – a perfect contrast to what you will find on the b-side.

The b-side is probably the reason while you’ll be getting excited. It comes from the hottest property in dance music at the moment: Gesaffelstein. It’s a slow-building, ‘80s tinged electro-work out with eletronic toms and abrasive filtered synths, that winds itself up into a frenzy in the breakdown before dropping back to bubbling drums and vocal snatches – classic Gesaffelstein.

Poolside – Take Me Home

The Poolside boys Jeffrey and Filip are coming into the home stretch of finishing their album and they would like to make ‘Take Me Home’ available for free to say thanks for the support over the first year and a half of otheir new project.

Social Disco Club – Lilt

Cocolores – Vox

Germany's Exploited label returns with yet another powerful release, this time from young Munich-based duo, Cocolores. The label has been hitting us with back to back 5-star EPs that usually end up topping the charts a month later (Claptone's "Cream" and Adana Twins' "Everyday" both reached the top on Beatport) so it is obviously exciting to see a new one show up. Labeled as "the return of Nouveau Bavaria", Cocolores is Jason Heath and Manuel Garay - two youngsters from Munich who produce a unique blend of 90ies house with a delictable tinge of urban funkiness. With their debutrelease "Heart Quest" (which will see remixes by Deetron & Trickski soon) they have conquered the hearts of many DJs and beautiful girls&boys. They currently remixed Mercury for Gomma and Eli Escobar for Plant and their 3rd EP for Exploited is already in the making. For now check out the follow-up "Vox" by these 2 gentlemen.

Copenhagen mixtapes #1

Nicholas – Still Playing House Album

Italian producer Nicholas serves you his debut album called "Still Playing House". An amazing collection of Nicholas’ work on 4Lux with a few unreleased reworks in there for good measure. His first 4Lux single "All Night Long" was a big club hit beginning of 2011. And his 2nd single for the label was an absolute stomper. On "Still Playing House" Nicholas showcases his love for the earlier USA house sounds. This is an absolutely gorgeous record that will appeal to all you house heads out there.

Maceo Plex - Deez Nutz

Ellum Audio gets set to unleash the 'Ellum Sleazy Riders Collection' - a funk fuelled drive along a deep and dirty underground house highway featuring Balearic bikers Maceo Plex, Jacek Janicki, Sync Mode (Nitin) and Luke Solomon blazing a sonic trail across the dusty savannah of the musical badlands...

Delivering the funk on cue, label boss and man of the moment Maceo Plex kicks things off with 'Deez Nuts', getting super 'freaky' with a sensuous electro vibe and deep sleazy vocal. The warm flow of melodic keys combined with the deep grumbling chords make this dirty electric groove and one that you will blow your mind!

Sleazy McQueen - We Need To Re-Connect (Dicky Trisco's Soft Piano Re-Rub)

Dicky Trisco: "Re-rub I knocked together of an ace track by Sleazy McQueen that came out on Paper recently. Did it just for DJing out as parts of the track really reminded me of the classic Soft House Company. And good news is that it is now getting a release on a Paper Recordings CD comp due out in May..."

Fur Coat feat. Cari Golden - You and I

Venezuelan production duo Fur Coat is back on Crosstown Rebels, this time armed with the sultry West Coast tones of Cari Golden and bomb of the season, "You and I".
"You And I" has long been slaying dance floors at the hands of Damian Lazarus, cloaked in mystery until Art Department let the cat out of the bag at Mexico’s BPM Festival, cementing the track as highly sought after DJ weapon, and leaving ‘Fur Coat’ and those suggestive lyrics on everyone’s lips. A-grade addictive groove, ‘You And I’ is the epitome of deep and sleazy bassline house with the added distinction of Cari Golden’s velvety vocals building an allegorical story of chemistry and intoxicating love.

Mario Basanov - We Are Child Of Love

Solid member of the Needwant family Mario Basanov is back with the eagerly awaited ‘We Are Child Of Love’ - a deep house, disco tinted, emotive masterpiece featuring redubs from Mario himself and a seductively smooth and effortlessly groovy remix from Needwant’s newest recruits the rising Parisian duo The Mekanism.

In case you missed it, watch the video for “We Are Child Of Love” here.

Discodromo - Mercurio (The Miracles Club Mercury Rising Remix)

The Miracles Club from Portland, USA turns "Mercurio” by Berlin based duo Discodromo, into a track full of mixed emotions on their Club Mercury Rising remix. On one hand there's the dreamy synth riffs that used to be the sole preserve of Booka Shade and MANDY, yet on the other there are squealing, dark bass licks and urgent chord builds.

Dead Rose Music Company – Four Songs EP

The meteoric rise of North Yorkshire's Dead Rose Music Company continues, this time with a much-hyped EP on Jacques Renault and co's NYC label Let's Play House. It's the hypnotic, decidedly loved-up "Faith" that's been getting most plaudits - and rightly so, it's fantastic - but there are plenty other delights to be found amongst Four Songs. Principle among these is the swirling, string-laden disco-house epic "Nutkins" (a formidable house take on Dennis Parker's end-of-night fave "Like An Eagle"), which bobs and weaves like David Haye running away from an opponent. That said, both "Shake" and "Don't Stop" are almost as unmissable. His best yet by some distance.

Kasper Bjørke - Lose Yourself to Jenny feat. Jacob Bellens (Maxxi Soundsystem Remix)

Kasper Bjørke's new single “Lose Yourself To Jenny” (feat. Jacob Bellens) is taken from the his third studio album “Fool”, appropriately released on Fool’s Day, April 1st on HFN Music. "Lose Yourself To Jenny” is packed with remixes by Axel Boman, Rebolledo, Till Von Sein and Maxxi Soundsystem. The last one is my favourite!

Simon Baker - Let Me In feat Debukas (Lee Curtiss Mix)

Simon Baker’s debut album ‘Traces’ saw the London based producer record a superb, honest reflection of his influences and took his deep house sound into a long playing format that was critically acclaimed across the board.
Let Me In was one of two tracks that featured vocals from Debukas that were highlights of the album, and it returns in original album version and with an excellent remix from Lee Curtiss. Out on 2020 Vision.

Crazy P - Changes (Mario Basanov Remix)

“Changes”, one of the strongest tracks on Crazy P’s last year album “When We On”, gets the remix treatment by the always amazing Mario Basanov. Taken from “Changes (Remixes Part 1)”, due out March 11th via 20:20 Vision. It also features rework by Crazy P member Hot Toddy.

Perseus – Seychelles

Perseus's last EP Russian Girlfriends was brilliant and went down a treat. The best part was they gave it away for free. This wonderful track which leans heavily on its Toni Braxton vocal samples is a sunny slice of joy. It was recently featured as the opening track on The Magician’s latest mixtape, a regular feature it seems for Perseus. You’d be doing well to not derive any enthusiasm and optimism from this one.

Mercury - Candlelight feat. Robert Owens

Mercury are on fire! Their second EP ("Sweetness") is still hot in the boxes of DJs like Brodinski, Deetron, Round Table Knights, Phonique and Pedro Winter, yet they're already hitting us with a third 12" on Gomma's Dance Tracks offshoot. For the title track they asked one of their favourite singersto join them. "Candlelight" is a deep burner with typically soulful vocals from Chicago house veteran Robert Owens. It's a super futuristic slow house jam with a tricky, unexpected beat and a harmonic change. Keeping the soulful quota right up high we have "Running Back To You" with strong vox from Christopher McCray. Think 90s US vocal house given a 2012 tweak. On the flipside "NY Feeling" is exactly that - another slice of 90s NY house-style groovin' to put a big fat smile on your face. One for fans of Black Science Orchestra... Lastly Till Von Sein drops a deeper house refix of "Candlelight".

Sam Sparro - Happiness (The Magician Remix)
