The Golden Filter – Kill Me (John Talabot's Killed in Room 616 Refix)

Spanish producer John Talabot, who recently released his stunning debut album “ƒin”, delivers another quality remix, this time for NYC synth-pop duo The Golden Filter’s “Kill Me”, from last year’s record “Syndromes”. This remix is called “Killed in Room 161″ For seven-and-a-half minutes, Talabot develops gorgeous, tastefully balearic synth swirls over a simple house bassline and Golden Filter vocalist Penelope Trappes' loose serenade. It all amounts to a pleasant and soothing track, but it's packed with just enough emotional gravity to warrant repeated listens.

Roland Clark & X – Press 2 - Let Love Decide EP

Following the release of 'The House Of X-press 2' album we see Rocky and Diesel team up with the legend that is Roland Clark, a UK number one artist with Armand Van Helden and the featured vocalist on both 'Star 69' and 'Song For Shelter' by Fatboy Slim. "Let Love Decide" is one of the many stand out tracks from the album which sees Roland on fine vocal form in a style which is unmistakably his.
The original is an upfront X-Press 2 groove, textured with numerous melodies which will have you on the dance floor in no time, transporting you back to the classic house era.
The remixes come in the form of uber cool Canadians Art Department who deliver a builder of a mix which fits perfectly in the world of Carl Craig and Radio Slave's sound. Kim Ann Foxman of "Hercules and Love affair" fame also delivers a strong stylish mix to finish off the EP in true form.

Marvin Gaye - Keep On Dancin' (Mic Newman Remix)

This is the best remix of Marvin Gaye I have heard in a long time..
Melbourne based DJ and producer Mic Newman has with his focus on electronic music, gained star status in his home country, where he, along with a new breed of local artists have put Australia firmly on the house radar, with an ever-expanding scene developing.

Whitney Houston - It's Not Right But It's Okay (Prince Club Remix)

Prince Club are two young dj/producers from Montreal, Canada who have their hand on the pulse of unique house music production. This is the best remix of Whitney Houston I have heard all week.

Hollis P Monroe - I'm Lonely (Larse Remix)

This is a 2012 re-issue of the classic “I'm Lonely” on Stickman Records from 1997.
The original club mix is still played by a lot of top-djs and they all probably have their own special edits of it as well. So why fix something if it ain't broken?
Well have a listen to this long-awaited remix-package from Noir Music and you will most likely find a version that you LOVE and agree that this classic track has been given a new lease of life that makes it sparkle. So if you know the original release. You surely supported it the first time around or picked it up later on.
Now you can support it once again with a remix and vibe that fits the underground dance-floors. And for those who are too young to know this classic. Here's your chance to discover a house classic in new guises. Subb-an, Laura Jones, SIS and Larse all contributed to this fantastic package and brought something different to the table. What they all have in common are productions that have paid respect to the original 1997 release and kept the original feel and love of the track.

Unknown Artist - What You Need (Coat Of Arms Mix)

With Pets Recordings firmly established as one of the hottest labels of the moment, label heads Catz n Dogz look to increase the heat with something rather special…
Whilst the artist of the new material must remain a secret (he's a pretty big cheese don't 'cha know), we can tell you that we've drafted in some equally heavyweight mongrels from the pound to lend their talents to this cracking remix package.
The deadly duo of Birmingham's Chris James and Bristol's Eats Everything, under their Coat Of Arms moniker. Keeping the bassline big but heading down a deeper route than we might expect, the pair turn in an understated, warm and groovy take of "What You Need."

Claptone - Cream

This Exploted release is from the mysterious German duo Claptone. Cream full of soul and nice deep grooves and is a rework/sample of the classic C.R.E.A.M by Wu-Tang Clan.

Here is the video which was just released to support the single.

Gazeebo - Adults Only 3 EP

Canadian disco deviant Gazeebo returns with the third (count 'em) instalment of his well-respected Adults Only series. This time round, there's no overdubbed groans, just a heavy dose of contemporary electrofunk that gleefully joins the dots between original synth disco, Italo and noughties nu-disco. The bottom end is heavy, the beats snappy and the synths authentically vintage. Orlando-based Whisky Disco man Sleazy McQueen provides the standout remix, upping the tempo and adding some swing to the beats on a swirling, funk-laden nudisco take. There's also a delightful blast of Italo campness in the form of Zoe's Raygun Remix - the most markedly different of all the included revisions.

Tracklist:

1. Bedroom Bullies (Gazeebo's Censored Mix)
2. Bedroom Bullies (Rayko Remix)
3. Bedroom Bullies (Sleazy McQueen Remix)
4. Bedroom Bullies (Zoe's Raygun Remix)

Mike Salta - Escape From Rico Bay EP

Danish DJ and producer Mike Salta having recently offered up reworks of classic Giorgio Moroder material, Martin Brodin's MB Disco imprint turns to Mike Salta for some original disco grooves. Ironically, Salta's original actually sounds like the result of an unlikely jam session between Mororder, Gino Soccio and nu-Balearic/nu-disco studio bod Peter Visti. It's perhaps fitting, then, that Visti himself provides a remix that balances Salta's pleasing melodies and sun-flecked touches (check the breakdown) with twisted, acid-flecked bottom end. The best reworks, though, come from Swedish production crew Drop Out Orchestra. Both the Dub and Rework (the latter nearly 14-minutes long) offer low-slung electric bass, heady melodies and, crucially, superb percussion.

Tracklist:

01. Mike Salta - Escape From Rico Bay (Drop Out Orchestra Club Cut)
02. Mike Salta - Escape From Rico Bay (Sare Havlicek Remix)
03. Mike Salta - Escape From Rico Bay (Peter Visti Remix)
04. Mike Salta - Escape From Rico Bay (Original Mix)
05. Mike Salta - Escape From Rico Bay (Drop Out Orchestra Rework)

Pollyester - Voices (Pional Remix)

Munich-based duo Pollyester are back with a new remix EP on Permanent Vacation. The stand out track is cover version of the Russ Ballard song "Voices" get the remix treatment from blog world and John Talabot darlings Pional. Pional strips down "Voices" to its infective melody and tailors the track a new suit in his unique trademark style. Istanbul's beloved export Baris K is in for some Turkish delight and gives "Voices" the Bosporus cosmic treatment with a rolling bass and a bunch of traditional instruments.

Hard Ton – In This Moment (Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca Erodiscomix)

Toy Tonics is a new label from Germany and Gomma Records sister label, setting out to release funky future-retro house and electronic dance music. They're mainly concentrating on artists who are working in Berlin or have a strong relationship to the city. Influenced by 90s house music and German electro-funk.
This first release is by Italian-born, Berlin-based performance artist and house diva Hard Ton - sounding like Sylvester reincarnated. Future Hi-NRG, acid basslines, Chicago Trax sounds. Using only analogue gear: 303, 606, Oberheim DMX, Korg Monopoly, MS20, Prophet V5...
Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca remix of "In This Moment" takes us back to late 80s / early 90s piano house, while Snuff Crew strips things back for some jacking acid.

The Mekanism – Can’t Believe

Needwant get set to welcome you to the world of Parisian super duo, The Mekanism, with a debut EP that will make you fall in love with their spin on disco infused house music. Effortlessly smooth and divinely deep, they capture an advanced and modern sound that will blow you away. The EP features three original tracks plus a remix from Needwant favourite, Mario Basanov who continues to gain notoriety as both an individual artists and within his Mario & Vidis project. Title track ‘Can’t Believe’ oozes with a funky yet deep groove and rhythm. The empowering melody and warm keys captivate the mind, as the murky vocal takes us deep. Lithuanian producer Mario Basanov steps in for remix duty, with a housier, deeper dance floor spin on the original ‘Can’t Believe’. Grumbling stabs and rounded melodic keys drive this remix with impressive results. Next up ‘Missing Love’ is highly infectious with its forceful bass, fluid warm keys, steady claps and captivating, deep vocal, which will engulf the dance floor. ‘Your Shade’ is the third of the original tracks on offer from the talented duo. Using their own vocal for a French twist, they prove their artistic worth for this smooth deep cut.

Soldered together through the love of electronic sounds and old disco records; Casino Times is the collaborative efforts of Joe Spencer and Nick Church, a production partnership that began at University in Oxford and is now breaking through into the house music scene. It is hard to pigeon hold the Casino Times sound, with such varied backgrounds in music and taste Nick and Joe both want to bring a real amalgamation to their productions and to the dance-floor.

Mathieu Cle - To Begin With

Apersonal Music keeps betting strongly on promoting unknown talents with plenty to offer. Mathieu Clé, a French producer from Montpellier, joins the list of newcomer artists who the label has confidently published; as earlier did with Trujillo, Cisco Cisco and Volta Cab. 4 original tracks and edits for the Spanish imprint eights effort on vinyl, a fusion of 80's funk & disco samples edited and scrambled up with modern nu-disco/house beats in a rather underground manner. The result is an energetic raw sound that make you feel like taken back in time to when all this dance-floor madness started to happen.

Dr. Shingo - Have You Ever Seen The Blue Comet? (Sare Havlicek Remix)

Christian Morgenstern brings the first track by Dr. Shingo entitled "Have You Ever Seen The Blue Comet?" on his own label Forte Records. The single, taken from the album, includes a brilliant remix by Sare Havlicek from Slovenia

Art Department - Touch You Gently

Art Department are back on the mothership Crosstown to kick off 2012 in lurid style with a slice of slow burning, chugging disco-tech and pendulum beats in new single 'Touch You Gently'. The B-side is taken care of with a powerful Brenann Green rework of 'Tell Me Why', from the much lauded album 'The Drawing Board'.

A-side 'Touch You Gently' is an embryonic blend of spooky synths, gliding, sexy basslines and futuristic bleeps offset with the ever-presence of Kenny's hypnotic layered vox, as ever, a true testament to their individuality and off-kilter spirit. It's deeper than deep and a sensual brainteaser that shifts up a gear with a floaty melodic breakdown in the final phase.

After attracting an impressive bag of remixers for 2011, including DJ Harvey, Daphni (aka Caribou), DBridge and TEED, It's no surprise that Crosstown have matched one of the most well-respected disco dons in the game with this release. Unlocking deeper dancefloor potential for 'Tell Me Why', NYC DJ and producer Brennan Green delivers his timeless groove with arpeggiated synths, syncopated drums, lush balaeric piano licks and whistles to boot. This remix is simply fantastic… come to that this single is simply superb!!

Gavin Herlihy - Endless Feeling EP

Irish born, Berlin based DJ and producer. Herlihy's debut track "Machine Ate My Homework" was a techno anthem around Europe and even as far afield as Japan. The Irish born producer and DJ relocated from London to Berlin in 2007 after a seven year stint working as a journalist for dance music magazine, Mixmag. As a DJ he's played at clubs like Berlin's Panorama Bar or Brazil's Warung Club and is resident for leading Bristol underground party, Bump. His latest release "Endless Feeling EP" is impressive stuff and 2012 looks to be his break-out year.

Disco Stu, J Monkman - Don't Have To Be Beautiful

London’s Kote Records pump out non-stop deep house jams morning, noon, and night, but the latest from newcomers Disco Stu and J Monkman is hot like lava, in a microwave, placed at the epicenter of a thermonuclear blast. Oh yeah, and there’s a Prince sample. Dope!

Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - Flip Da Beat (Greg Wilson edit)

There is probably no reason for a detailed introduction of the legendary Greg Wilson. This is slow movin', big groovin' action you expect from the best!

Leodoris

Electronic duo, Leodoris (Erikka Bahnsen & Kristian Rix), are Copenhagen's best kept, dirty little secret.
Big-bearded, grungy-haired Kristian takes care of the timelessly haunting, synthetic soundscapes and curly, charismatic Erikka supplies the soulfully frail, broken diva vocals to the house-y equation.
As the dark mistress of house music fate would have it, the two creatives met a party where Erikka’s tipsy singing enthralled Kristian and made him want to provide the right dramatic setting for her off-kilter vocals. They quickly joined forces and released the single, ‘Run’, which became Guardian’s single of the week, made Copenhagen’s more with-it dance floors take notice and paved the way for a high-profile remix of avant-popsters Metronomy.

Pop & Eye - Give Me The Night

Talkin' bout Pop music. Pop & Eye return on great form. (probably related to the Tiger & Woods + Cleo & Patra) they deliver some overdubbed overtures from all four corners of the dance music world with recognition value, virtue and elegance: space R&B, Atlantis disco, Carribean new wave, minimal boogie and a declaration of love.

Nicholas - Free To Be

After releasing over a dozen beguiling, befuddling, and playful disco edits, the Italian producer Nicholas is finally churning out his own original productions. The second single from his forthcoming 4lux album, Still Playing House, is a beast. Free To Be is a monstrous, house-submerged affair, as low-slung as they come and in a classic Murk vibe.
